We are keen to develop an ongoing relationship with you as you move through your career and to help you achieve your career goals. We find jobs for people with actuarial qualifications in all actuarial practice areas and at all levels, from student to senior management.
Our services to individuals are free of charge and without obligation.
University Visits
Qed visits a number of universities in Australia during the year with the aim of providing information about:
The different practice areas and the type of work you can expect to do
The current employment market - in Australia and overseas
Current salaries
Other actuarial career issues
We encourage you to attend at your own university as there is the opportunity to ask questions and to speak to a consultant directly after the presentations.
Qed visits ANU, Melbourne University, Macquarie UNiversity and UNSW. Watch out for notification of dates from your actuarial students society or from your actuarial department.
Newsletters
We prepare a newsletter which we email to university students every few months. This includes information about interviews, resumes, the employment market, and the actuarial education process post graduation.
To receive future copies please [contact us] to be placed on the email list
We have complied an actuarial graduate handbook which addresses many of the questions we are asked each year by students.
Graduates wishing to work in Australia usually find their first job through university recruitment services such as careers fairs or by applying directly via a company's own graduate recruitment process. Many companies require applications very early in your final year, often before March so you need to be prepared early and research via the internet and your careers service. Qed can help later in the year or after graduation.
